Geoffrey M. Maroko is a PhD (Applied Linguistics) and Professor in the Department of Linguistics and Languages at Machakos University. His current teaching and research interests are language and ecology; language and healthcare;language syllabus and materials design; communication in research, professional and social settings; language management and planning; language teaching and testing; and language and technology. He is a consultant for the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC). He has previously served as Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences and as Director of Research at Machakos University. He has authored more than 40 publications including 1 monograph.
